Best of 2017: Miguel Bosch

As the 2017 season has come to an end, it’s time to look back at our best work of the year. We start off with yours truly, Miguel Bosch, who besides writing some words, also continues to make desperate attempts at photography.   These photos are my favourites of 2017. Drivers on the storm

It may be the middle of November but the Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship isn’t quite done yet with the final round coming up this weekend at Brands Hatch. With just 3 points separating the top three positions the Ferrari 458 GTE of Witt Gamski and Ross Wylie sits just a point ahead of the Team Hard Ginetta G55 of Simon Rudd and Tom Barley whilst their team mates, Darron Lewis, Tom Knight and Adam Shepherd are just two points further behind. In late October the series visited Oulton Park in the northwest of England where Bonamy Grimes and Jonny...

Going out winning

One more race and then it’s all done for Porsche’s LMP1 project. Only four years after returning to the top echelon of sportscar racing, the people from Weissach call it quits–but at least going out winning the FIA World Endurance Championship title. Timo Bernhard, Earl Bamber and Brendon Hartley’s mid-season four-race win streak and podium appearances in all other races but one was enough to clinch the WEC title in Shanghai. Toyota went at it in China with full force. It was their last hope for victory in the championship. Pole position and a dominant display up until the...

Thomas Jäger: “Joining Scheid was one of my best decisions”

2017 should’ve been Thomas Jäger’s year. As the season began, the Austrian looked a shoo-in for VLN’s BMW M235i Racing Cup trophy. Alongside Nordschleife veteran Rudi Adams and with a season of title hunting in the bag, Jäger raced the Scheid-Honert Motorsport BMW M235i Racing Cup to great success in the opening races of the year—and then it all fell apart. Under the bright blue skies of the first races of the new season, Jäger and Adams brought their blue and black Eifelblitz to victory twice, fending off the competition by millimetres. Despite the unexpected return of defending champion...

Sunset over Europe

As the sun set over the Algarve, so ended the European Le Mans Series for the season. In a year that saw G-Drive win just one race but score an endless string of second places, the Gazprom, DragonSpeed-run squad didn’t need to go all-out for the finale, and just hang back and let the race unfold. Fourth place in Portimão was enough for G-Drive Racing to clinch the 2017 European Le Mans Series title. The Oreca-Gibson of drivers Memo Rojas and Léo Roussel never challenged for the lead, but together with part-time co-driver Ryo Hirakawa the Mexican-French duo took the title in both...
