Flick Haigh makes history with British GT pole

Flick Haigh has made British GT history at Oulton Park as she became the first woman to claim an overall pole position after she stormed to pole for race one. In her first qualifying session for Optimum Motorsport, Haigh paced the field as she finished 0.1s ahead of reigning champion Rick Parfitt Jr., in an Aston Martin V8 Vantage having set a 1m34.769s. Rick Parfitt: “This is a building year”

Reigning British GT champion Rick Parfitt has said he’s targeting top five finishes this season as he looks to ‘find the speed again’ in the face of an even more competitive GT3 class. With championship winning team-mate Seb Morris moving to the Blancpain GT Series, Parfitt will be joined this season in the Team Parker Racing Bentley Continental GT3 by Ryan Ratcliffe reuniting a partnership that secured the GT4 title in 2013. ADAC GT Masters pre-season test gallery

Days after the German GT season was kicked off at the Nürburgring with the first VLN race of the season, many of the GT3 teams found their way to Oschersleben for the ADAC GT Masters pre-season test. Tim Scheerbarth: “We joked a bit; now I’m really racing for Mühlner”

Tim Scheerbarth has seen it all: A long time ago he started his VLN career in a self-built Ford Fiesta ST Cup, went on to become VLN, Junior, and production class champion in Black Falcon’s BMW Z4, and race the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGT GT3. In recent years he has made a career of racing Porsche Cup cars, winning the Carrera Cup title with GetSpeed Performance in 2017. For 2018, the reigning champion moved to Mühlner Motorsport to race the new, second generation Porsche 991 GT3 Cup—doing so to much success in the first outing of the season at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife....

British GT season preview: GT4

After looking at the GT3 class in part one, the second half of GT REPORT’s British GT Championship preview looks at the GT4 class which this year has reached a mammoth 23 entries from eight manufacturers.
