It was not long ago that the GT4 European Series was caught in a downward spiral. As it struggled to bring even a half-decent grid to the race track, entry lists with only a dozen cars on it weren’t unheard of. SRO, as SRO does, took the necessary steps to save the series from folding and together with the continuing growth of the GT4 class, the championship is back in full force at the start of the 2018 season with a grid that’s bursting at the seams.
Spurred on by the influx of new manufactures in GT4, a record-breaking 47 cars will take the start at Circuit Zolder next month. To prepare, teams and drivers hit the Flanders track this week for their first laps of the season. PROsport Performance flexed its muscles in the pre-season test, setting the fastest times in both the morning and afternoon sessions, courtesy of team-regular and local racer Nico Verdonck.
