Days after the German GT season was kicked off at the Nürburgring with the first VLN race of the season, many of the GT3 teams found their way to Oschersleben for the ADAC GT Masters pre-season test.
Reigning champion Callaway Competition returned with the Corvette C7 GT3-R driven by Corvette-newcomer Marvin Kirchhöfer, IronForce by Ring Police made its first appearance with the artful Porsche 991 GT3R, and Land Motorsport introduced a new cast of drivers with Kelvin van der Linde teaming up with his younger brother Sheldon van der Linde and 2016 champion Christopher Mies finding a new co-driver in Alessio Picariello.
Most of the attention, however, went to the Honda NSX GT3 of Schubert Motorsport. The much-awaited second-generation NSX scored several wins in the USA in 2017 under the banner of Michael Shank Racing. This season, Schubert is hoping to extend the car’s win-tally with victories in Europe.
