Manthey Racing has taken a 1-2-3 victory in the rain-lashed third VLN race of the season. The Porsche squad saw its two works cars finish 1-2 with Richard Lietz and Nick Tandy winning and Kévin Estre and Michael Christensen finishing second.
Third place went to the customer Porsche of Otto Klohs and Dennis Olsen. Olsen went solo for much of the race and fought with the number 912 Manthey Porsche for the lead, but couldn’t help making a final pitstop on the last lap to let Otto Klohs get his one lap in. Regardless, the gentleman driver held off Dirk Müller in the Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 to claim the final step on the podium.
Update: A post-race time-penalty of 15 seconds for refueling more than the Porsche-specific maximum of 107 liters has thrown the number 911 Manthey Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R off the podium. Otto Klohs and Dennis Olsen inherit second place, while the number 14 Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Adam Christodoulou, Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Dirk Müller moves into third.
