The first race of 2020 is here. Since 2006 the 24H Series has been kicking off the new season with the Dubai 24 Hours. Maro Engel secured pole position on Thursday with a stellar lap of 1:57.490 in the #777 Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG GT3. His one-lap wonder was just 0.047 seconds quicker than Jeroen Bleekemolen in the #4 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 — the fellow Mercedes-AMG team later penalised for not having all of its drivers partake in qualifying.
Rain is in the forecast for the race so this might be one you don’t want to miss. Watch the race flag-to-flag here on GT REPORT. The green flag flies Friday at 15:00 local time (12:00 CET).
