Rising star Mattia Drudi has signed up for a campaign in the Italian GT Championship with Audi Sport Italia. The Italian joins reigning Italian GT Sprint champion Riccardo Agostini and international GT3 race winner Daniel Mancinelli aboard the Audi R8 LMS GT3 for a combined sprint and endurance season.
21-year-old Drudi is planned to take part in all races not clashing with any of his other Audi works driver commitments, expected to amount to five to six race weekends. In addition to the Italian GT Championship, Drudi also competes in the Intercontinental GT Championship for the brand from Ingolstadt.
A test at Mugello is scheduled this week where the driver from Rimini will have another go with the Audi team following the earlier pre-season test at Misano two weeks ago.
The first race of the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo takes place at Mugello in the weekend of 17-19th July with a three-hour race for the Endurance championship.
