However, as the Irishman reveals in our upcoming podcast, that he did have an opportunity to step up to GT3 but opted to stay in GT4.
“For my second year I was offered a drive in GT3 so I explored the option but in the end I felt I wasn’t quite there yet, I didn’t want to walk before I could run.
“This year has already taught me some great things about racing and without that stepping stone of GT4, I wouldn’t be able to progress up the ladder for next year.
“It’s taught me some really vital things: how to lead a race, how to pull away in a race, how to get pole and how to get everything hooked together so I don’t want to move to GT3 and get forgotten because it’s such a competitive field. You’re up against some really quick guys and as much as I’d love to have gone with the option, I think I would have been a bit lost and I wouldn’t have been noticed and I wouldn’t want to do that.
“I think after this year we have another great year and we achieve our end goal, I definitely think that next year it would be nice to step up.”
