Porsche test driver Lars Kern lost his Nürburgring 24 Hours ride with Manthey Racing earlier this week when the team was forced to pull out on short notice. Within 24 hours he was back in the game instead racing the #31 Frikadelli Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R together with Mathieu Jaminet, Lance David Arnold and Maxime Martin. Lars got in the car for his first stint after darkness set in and the conditions began to deteriorate.

Lars Kern: “I just finished my first stint – to be honest, it’s super hardcore out there. We are still struggling for pace especially in the full wet when the temperature drops. After two or three laps the temperature in the tyres was gone and I was sliding around and searching for grip. I just tried to survive but it was definitely one of the toughest stints I’ve ever did. Honestly, when you’re in the car you’re not feeling well, this is for sure, it’s really, really, really tough what’s going on out there.
“For the moment we are P11. I lost quite some time on the leaders but it was just the maximum I could do.”
