The #163 Emil Frey Lamborghini Huracán GT3 and the #4 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3 have both been handed 35-second penalties for pit lane infringements in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup race two at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, handing the win to the #55 Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Fred Vervisch Nicolas Schöll.

“The driver’s Frontal Head Restraint (FHR) was not correctly positioned before leaving the working area,” the stewards’ decision for both cars reads. The teams have the right to appeal.

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT’s #32 Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts are promoted to second place, now holding an 8.5-point lead over Timur Boguslavskiy (#88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG) ahead of the deciding race. Both the #163 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini and #4 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG are out of contention for the championship.
