TF Sport will return to the GT3 class in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship at the upcoming Silverstone round with 2019 GT4 champion Tom Canning partnering Giacomo Petrobelli aboard an Aston Martin Vantage.

Canning was due to contest the 2020 season with Graham Davidson but when the 2019 GT3 champion shelved his plans for 2020, Canning was left without a drive.

“I’m really excited to be back racing at the Silverstone 500 for my British GT return, this time in GT3,” said Canning, whose Aston will again run in the Pro-Am class. “Now I have completed my first race weekend with TF Sport in GT3 and won my first race in the class, I am very confident going into the weekend racing alongside Giacomo in the TF Sport-prepared Vantage!”

Petrobelli returns to racing after a six-year break having previously raced a Ferrari in the old Blancpain GT Series.

“Having been out of a race car for a while, I am really looking forward to driving the Aston at the most prestigious race in the British GT calendar,” he said. “I have known Tom Ferrier and TF Sport for a long time and I am confident the car will be well prepared, and together with Tom Canning we will make a good pairing. I can’t wait!”

The grid for the Silverstone finale continues to grow with Balfe Motorsport having also announced a third McLaren 570S GT4 driven by Lars Dahmann and Charlie Hollings with further announcements are expected later this week.
