The GTC class continues to grow for the Intelligent Money British GT Championship with a third Ferrari being added to the Silverstone mix courtesy of FF Corse.

The Ferrari affiliated team returns to the championship for the first time since 2016 with series debutant Laurent de Meeus joining 2010 British GT4 champion Jamie Stanley aboard a 488 Competizione.

De Meeus has been a Ferrari Challenge regular since 2017 and won his class at the Le Mans support race last season. The Belgian’s CV also includes Britcar, GT Cup and VW Fun Cup outings, but this will be his first-ever British GT appearance.

“The decision to enter British GT at Silverstone was a last-minute decision after the Ferrari Challenge World Final at Misano was cancelled,” said De Meeus, whose yellow Evo-spec Ferrari runs Belgium’s national racing colour. “I couldn’t finish 2020 without some more track action and I feel privileged to be racing in the Silverstone 500.”

Stanley, meanwhile, has been a mainstay of FF Corse’s activities for several seasons and De Meeus’ driver coach since 2017. He has also engineered the Belgian’s Ferrari since his Challenge debut three years ago.

“I am extremely excited to be competing in British GT with Laurent,” said Stanley. “This will be the seventh time I have done the Silverstone 500, which in my opinion is the best race of the British GT season and it is an added bonus to be competing with Laurent in his first appearance in British GT.”
