In a year when I didn’t expect to shoot anything except for the Intelligent Money British GT Media day it was a nice surprise to actually shoot an entire season of racing. It was only one championship so this really is a best of my British GT 2020 pictures.

Oulton Park was the opening round, moved from the traditional Easter weekend to the first weekend in August. This was the only race I wasn’t accredited for, the organisers still feeling their way with the Covid restrictions. Fortunately Oulton Park is possibly the most spectator friendly circuit in the country so it was pretty easy to work from the other side of the fence.

There were two visits to Donington Park this year and the first had the worst weather possible from a photography perspective. Grey and misty with even the planes landing at the airport next door invisible in the gloom.

The second visit to Donington was a much nicer affair with late summer sun bathing the circuit. The pressure is also on not to repeat the same set of pictures taken at the earlier round.

Snetterton couldn’t be any wetter for practise and qualifying but it was the sort of rain that created some great opportunities for shots of cars splashing through puddles. Race day was similar to the weekend at Donington 1 and just was a real challenge.

The Silverstone 500 usually takes place in the summer but this year it was early November and the autumn sunshine lighting up the circuit up during qualifying made the wait worthwhile.
