As the start of the season is closing in for many teams, several took the opportunity offered by Speer Racing to go for a test drive at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. During the two-day track day, a number of teams put their cars through their paces.

Amongst the teams attending were three GT World Challenge Europe teams, having travelled to Italy in preparation for the upcoming season opener at Monza in one month time.

Emil Frey Racing brought both its Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evos; SPS Automotive Performance and Allied Racing came with one car each. Baden-Württemberg-based SPS Automotive Performance elected to only take the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to Monza — the second Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for 2021 was only announced on Wednesday during the first day of the test.

GTWCE newcomer Allied Racing continues its testing programme ahead of its first season in GT3. Having acquired a Porsche 991.2 GT3R late last year, the car will contest the Pro-Am Cup with Nicolas Schöll and Jan Kasperlik driving.

Dörr Motorsport also came down from Germany, testing both of its ADAC GT4 Germany contenders: one McLaren 570S GT4 and an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The team’s Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo also made an appearance.

Other teams making use of the track time came with Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo machinery as well as a Ligier JS P320 owned by MV2S Racing as the French squad gets ready for its debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
