After having confirmed a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for the GT Cup class with Giacomo Riva and Giovanni Berton last week, the Rovato-based team Krypton Motorsport have announced a second Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Francesco La Mazza and Giuseppe Nicolosi.

With this entry, it brings GT Cup car count up to seven entries. The class, which is reserved for single-make configuration cars, will also see teams running Ferrari 488 Challenge cars as well as Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeos.

“I have been recovering well during the past couple of years due to my accident at Imola in 2019, but now I’m ready to get back behind the weel,” said La Mazza, who has participated in the Italian GT Championship since 2004.

This will be his first time back in Italian GT since suffering several injuries at Imola two years ago.

“I can’t wait to put on my helmet to get back into the game in the Italian GT Championship.”

Nicolosi, who has close ties with the Porsche brand, is confident and ready to resume track activities after several months off.

“It will be a great opportunity to be able to race in the GT Cup with this team and with this performing car. We are preparing as best as we can to be ready to give our best from the first race. Monza is a track that I really like, and it will be nice to start from there.”

Both Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will be present at Mugello on 2 April for a day of testing, meanwhile team owner, Stefano Pezzucchi, is still working on confirming a GT3 program with his Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The 2021 Italian GT season is set to kick off at Monza with its Sprint series season opener set for 30 April-2 May.
