Despite a chilly 4 degrees Celsius, conditions were perfect for quick lap times. Augusto Farfus showed early on that the 8-minute mark could be broken today, putting his #44 BMW Junior Team BMW M6 GT3 on provisional pole with a 7:59.118. Improvements on his time were thwarted by a prolonged Code 60 Zone at Bellof-S following an accident involving the #26 Octane126 Ferrari 488 GT3 of Jonathan Hirschi and another car.
When the yellow flag was lifted with 20 minutes to go, Olsen was the first to set a competitive time. His 7:53.565 proved to be unbeatable, helped by a late Code 60 Zone at Mutkurve that was resolved only after most cars had ended their final flying lap.
Phoenix Racing secured second and third place. The #11 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Nicki Thiim shot to second deep in overtime, lining up alongside Olsen on the front row with a lap of 7:55.829.
Despite having to race through heavy traffic in the closing minutes, Frank Stippler managed a 7:55.885, enough to put the #5 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 on third place.
Behind the top 3, nine more cars broke into the 7:50s: Michael Christensen put the #911 Manthey Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3 alongside Stippler on the second row, followed by the #30 Frikadelli Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R and Marco Holzer’s #18 KCMG Porsche 991.2 GT3R completing the third row; Daniel Keilwitz (#22 WTM Powered by Phoenix Racing Ferrari 488 GT3) and Axcil Jefferies (#7 Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo) share the fourth row; while Nico Menzel (#25 Huber Motorsport Porsche 991.2 GT3R) and Augusto Farfus (#44 BMW Junior Team BMW M6 GT3) close out the top 10.
