Two weeks after claiming victory in the Italian GT Endurance series opener at Pergusa, Riccardo Agostini is set to hit the track this weekend at Misano World Circuit for the second round of the Sprint series.
After securing a fifth and second place finish in their Audi R8 LMS GT3 during the Sprint series opener at Monza, Agostini alongside teammate Lorenzo Ferrari, head to the Santamonica track as the series standings leader, albeit tied in points with the Easy Race duo of Fabrizio Crestani and Matteo Greco in their Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.
Agostini aims to consolidate and extend his championship lead, despite him and Ferrari having a 10-second pit stop handicap penalty in this weekend’s Race 1 due to their second place finish the team claimed at Monza early last May.
In last year’s event at Misano, while driving the Audi GT3 alongside Daniel Mancinelli, Agostini secured a double podium as he finished first and third in the Sprint series round.
Tomorrow’s qualifying sessions are set for 10:00 local time and 10:35 on Saturday, 5th June, ahead of race one around 18:20 local time. On Sunday, 6th June, race two will commence at 15:20 local time.
