After a successful season running within the Goodyear Britcar Endurance Championship, Praga has announced that they will be expanding to a one-make series from 2022.

PRAGA INTERVIEW

Having already run nine of the new Praga R1s in the Britcar Praga category, Praga has committed to ensuring that no fewer than sixteen cars will take to the grid for its inaugural season starting at Silverstone in March.

Meetings at Silverstone, Oulton Park, and Snetterton have already been confirmed with further details of the calendar are set to be released soon in coordination with Britcar.

Praga has however confirmed that that the Praga Cup will be competed for over both Saturday and Sunday at Britcar meetings switching from the one-day format used in 2021.

The guest driver program is set to continue after seeing the successful debuts of Jimmy Broadbent, Jay Morton, Miles Lacey, and James Walker with full factory support once again from VR Motorsport

Mark Harrison, Managing Director, Praga Cars said: “We have seen significant growth in 2021 in the awareness of Praga and the R1, had a successful year on the grid within Britcar Endurance, and strengthened our team with the recruitment of Lucy Payne as Motorsport Manager. Most importantly though, we saw increased interest from drivers, teams, and potential sponsors after releasing dramatic pictures of all nine competing R1s together on the grid at Silverstone in June and this has encouraged us to build on momentum and target the one-make Cup in 2022.”
