Never dropping out of the top 3 positions in each session, the Lamborghini’s drivers Alberto Di Folco, Andrea Amici and Stuart Middleton secured the top spot after Mattia Drudi in the #12 Audi could only take third place in the final session after his teammates had secured fastest laps in both preceding sessions.
The Audi team started strongly in the first session with Ricardo Agostini securing a lap of 1.47.609, just 0.086 seconds ahead of Stuart Middleton in the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3. Daniel Zampieri driving the #27 Scuderia Baldini Ferrari 488 GT3 took third place with a lap of 1:47.961.
In Q2 Lorenzo Ferrari kept up the pressure in the #12 Audi R8 LMS GT3. Marius Zug took second place in the #7 Ceccato Racing BMW M6 GT3 pushing Andrea Amici down to third in the #63 Lamborghini.
In the final session Alberto Di Folco was well on the pace and despite flirting with disaster with two wheels on the gravel on the exit of the Variante della Roggia, grabbed the fastest lap. Clocking first a time of 1:47.331, he went on to better the time with a lap of 1:46.657, over half a second faster than nearest challenger Daniel Zampieri in the #27 Scuderia Baldini Ferrari 488 GT3.
Drudi was a further 0.164 second back with Davide Rigon following him in fourth in the #8 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 which also secured a fourth-place starting position for the Ferrari.
The final race of the Italian GT Championship takes place on Sunday afternoon with the three-hour endurance getting underway at 13:45 CET. Watch the race live on GT.REPORT/live.
