24 Hours of Le Mans class winner and FIA Endurance Trophy champion Alessio Rovera has been added to the line-up of Ferrari Competizioni GT drivers.

The 26-year-old Italian joins the works drivers programme after a successful debut season in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s LMGTE-Am class claiming four wins in six races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“Joining the Ferrari family is really special,” Alessio Rovera said.

“I consider it a new, exciting starting point. During my first test on the 488 I immediately felt a natural feeling with the car and in these last two seasons we achieved important victories in Italy and abroad. For sure, from now on I will keep pushing and improving myself. Working together with the team and my teammates, my goal is to help getting the Cavallino Rampante as high as possible, so the main target is to fully repay the trust given by Ferrari.”

Other successes of Rovera include race wins in the European Le Mans Series, two Italian GT Championship titles and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia championship. He also finished runner-up in the Pro-Am Cup of the 2021 24 Hours of Spa.
