The new for 2022 Praga Cup sees popular YouTuber, Jimmy Broadbent join forces with the spectacular young Scotsman, Gordie Mutch.
Both drivers competed within the Britcar Endurance Championship Praga category in 2021 and teamed up for the final rounds at Donington Park where they took a clean sweep of victories. Broadbent even earned Britcar Rookie of the Year from his efforts throughout the season.
Broadbent will be looking to capitalize upon his impressive pace from the end of last season whilst Mutch meanwhile will once again assume the role of the Pro driver within the pairing as the championship stipulates each driver pairing must be Pro-Am. It will be Mutch’s second year in the Praga, having previously competed in the Ginetta GT5 challenge against the likes of Scott McKenna, Katie Milner and European GT4 race winner Gus Bowers.
Speaking ahead of his announcement, Mutch expressed his intentions for the upcoming season.
“I’m really excited to be racing with Jimmy and Praga again this year, and to do so with the support of Eddie and his team at Eco is something I’m very proud of.
“Jimmy and I learned a lot about the car over the course of last season, and I’m hoping we can carry the momentum from our double win at Donington Park into this year.
“I can’t thank Praga enough for the opportunity to join them again for a second season, and I’ll be aiming to reward the faith they and my partners have shown me with some strong results this year.”
The championship kicks off on 12 March with two races around the Silverstone GP circuit which will see a minimum of sixteen Praga R1s take to the grid.
