Christian Krognes gave BMW a (very) provisional front-row lock-up by lapping the Nordschleife in the #101 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 in 8m15.936s.

Both BMWs’ quickest times came just after one hour of qualifying in the session planned for 90 minutes. Qualifying 1 was curtailed 18 minutes before the end to repair the barriers after an accident of the #131 Mühlner Motorsport Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.

Luca Stolz was third quickest, putting the #12 Mercedes-AMG Team Bilstein near the top-end of the timesheets with an 8m18.599s. The German led a long group of cars that set early fast times but never improved on them.

The top five was completed by Julien Andlauer in the #27 Toksport WRT Porsche 991.2 GT3R (8m19.265s) in fourth and Maro Engel in the #4 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed in fifth place with a fastest lap of 8m19.300s.

Night qualifying starts tonight at 20:30 CEST with the chequered flag at just before midnight at 23:30 CEST. You can watch all qualifying sessions and the race live on GT.REPORT/live.
