That flying lap came in the closing minutes of the session that saw many of the top contenders sit out the middle part of qualifying as several yellow flags and Code 60 slow zones prevented fast times.

For a long time it looked like Frank Stippler’s 7m54.494sec set on his first timed lap would be enough for pole. The #5 Scherer Sport Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS GT3, however, would end up second quickest just 0.022sec behind the pole sitter.

Third on the grid will be the #6 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3. Luca Stolz beat Jakub Giermaziak for third place at the end of the session, demoting the #16 Scherer Sport Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS GT3 to fourth place, ahead of the #9 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3. The latter was put on SP9/GT3 Pro-Am pole by up-and-coming Moritz Kranz, however, the team has been punished for overtaking under yellow and will have to start from the back of the first starting group.

The start of the race is today at 12:00 CEST. Follow all the action live on GT.REPORT/live.
