Eight races, two reserve dates and an earlier end to the season: the 2023 VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) returns next year taking into account the often poor spring and early autumn weather conditions.
Starting with the traditional unofficial pre-season test on 11 and 12 March, the season really kicks off a week later with NLS1 followed by NLS2 and 3 in two-week intervals. That third weekend offers the opportunity for a substitute date on Sunday should NLS1 or 2 be cancelled making NLS3 a doubleheader.
After a two-month break to make way for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring on 18-21 May, the series returns in mid-June with NLS4 and the 6-hour summer race on 7-8 July. After the summer break, the 12 Hours of the Nürburgring is held on 8-10 September. NLS7 and 8 close out the season on 22-23 September and 6-8 October. 3-4 November is reserved as a fallback date.
Fridays before the race offer teams the opportunity to test drive their cars and taxi guests around the Nordschleife. Saturday sees the weekend start officially with qualifying and the race. All races except the 6 and 12-hour races will be held over the duration of 4 hours.
