GT4 Pro-Am frontrunners Carl Cavers and Lewis Plato are making their mark in the Intelligent Money British GT3 ranks this year. The dynamic duo, who played a pivotal role in Century’s teams’ championship victory in GT4, are now set to challenge the competition with a GT3 spec M4, marking an exciting chapter in their racing careers.
Cavers and Plato, having participated in GT4’s intense title showdown last October, showcased their skills by securing a commendable sixth overall and third in Pro-Am. Their outstanding performance contributed significantly to Century’s teams’ championship triumph. Now, equipped with a GT3 spec M4, the same model that propelled Darren Leung and Dan Harper to the drivers’ crown in 2023, Cavers and Plato are ready for their next challenge in British GT3.
The duo, competing in GT3’s Silver-Am class, already gave a glimpse of their potential in Kuwait last December when they raced their new M4 GT3. The eye-catching livery on their BMW, drawing attention to the charitable efforts of Solving Kids’ Cancer, adds an extra layer of significance to their journey. Plato, making his first senior class appearance since 2015, expressed his excitement, stating, “I am delighted to be returning to British GT in 2024.”
Plato added, “Carl and I enjoyed a tremendous season last year and now feel ready to mix it with the cream of GT3’s crop. Our initial focus is on Silver-Am – the class was very competitive last year, and we expect it to be again.”
Cavers, who previously raced in Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Sprint Cup before his GT4 switch last year, shared his enthusiasm for stepping up to GT3, saying, “After an absolutely great first year in British GT with Century Motorsport, it seemed like we’d be delaying the inevitable if we didn’t jump up to the BMW M4 GT3 in 2024.”
“I’m absolutely over the moon to be back on the Intelligent Money British GT3 grid, and once again joined by my great friend and stellar racing driver, Lewis. With Century’s support, we’re looking forward to doing a lot more than making up the numbers,” Cavers added.
