The Judicial Report, which can be viewed in full here, states: “Following a sporting decision made by the Championship Clerk of the Course/Race Director, several incidents of abusive language and a threat of violence towards the Clerk of the Course occurred.
“Representatives of the Entrant, Ram Racing arrived in the Clerk of the Course’s office to express their view against decisions made by the Clerk of the Course, in a manner that was considered abusive and threatening. These included J Ferguson (Driver Car 15) and R Hopkinson (father of Driver L Hopkinson – Car 17).”
In the additional comments section, the report further states: “The Clerk of the Course refers this matter to the Stewards of the Meeting for further considerations, and would recommend considering the imposition of further penalties against those involved, including J Ferguson, or [sic] was a driver in this event.”
The result was both the #15 BMW M4 GT3, driven by Ferguson and Max Hesse, and the #17 Mercedes-AMG GT4, driven by Harry George & Luca Hopkinson, has been disqualified from the results of every session held across the weekend based on contravening rule – C1.1.9 Abusive language or behaviour, physical assault, or threats of physical assault within the area under the control of the Organising Club.
In terms of the races, the #15 lost its sixth place in Race One and what was third on the road – but would have been second for another penalty we’ll explain below – in the second race. The GT4 entry, meanwhile, lost a sixth in GT4 Silver Cup in the opener, and fifth in the final race.
Elsewhere, Barwell Motorsport’s Sandy Mitchell and Alex Martin have lost their second win in Sunday afternoon’s Race Two after Martin was given a 30-second time penalty for overtaking under yellow flags. That has dropped the pair from first to 10th, with 2 Seas Motorsport’s Kevin Tse and Maxi Götz inheriting the win, Barwell’s second Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 crew Rob & Ricky Collard taking the runner up spot and Mark Radcliffe & Tom Gamble rounding out the podium.
