Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam are set to team up once again for Blackthorn AMR’s 2025 British GT Championship campaign. The dynamic duo will take the wheel of the team’s cutting-edge Aston Martin Vantage Evo GT3, aiming to build on last year’s promising yet challenging season.
The 2024 campaign saw Petrobelli and Adam finish ninth in the standings—a result that belied the strides Blackthorn made with its new-generation Vantage. A mechanical retirement at Spa robbed them of a near-certain win, but they bounced back with a stellar second-place finish at Donington, hinting at their potential as serious contenders. This year, the pair is determined to turn glimpses of brilliance into a sustained title challenge.
For Adam, a seasoned champion with four British GT titles under his belt—all earned in Aston Martin machinery—the 2025 season marks a milestone. It’s the 10th anniversary of his inaugural triumph in 2015, and a fifth crown would be his first since 2019. “Last year was a learning curve, but it showed us what we’re capable of,” Adam said. “With Giacomo’s energy and Blackthorn’s expertise, we’ve got everything we need to fight for the championship.”
Petrobelli, still chasing his first British GT race win, brings youthful ambition to the partnership. His standout performances in 2024 underscored his growing prowess, making him a key asset for Blackthorn’s title aspirations. “Teaming up with Jonny again is a privilege,” Petrobelli remarked. “We gelled well last season, and I’m confident we’ll be in the mix at every round.”
The championship kicks off on April 5-6 at Donington Park, but fans won’t have to wait long to see the Vantage in action. Blackthorn AMR will showcase the car at the British GT media day on March 21 at Silverstone, where free tickets are up for grabs at Silverstone’s official website.
With a seven-round, nine-race season ahead, Petrobelli and Adam are poised to make 2025 a defining year for Blackthorn AMR—and perhaps rewrite their own legacies in British GT racing.
