Team Parker Racing is set to make a triumphant return to the British GT Championship in 2025, fielding an exciting driver lineup of reigning GT4 Pro-Am champion Seb Morris and talented newcomer Ed McDermott in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the newly launched Endurance Cup.
McDermott, a successful businessman and passionate advocate for charitable causes, brings a unique blend of enthusiasm and determination to the team. A supporter of The Brain Tumour Charity—which works tirelessly to support those affected by brain tumours—and My Black Dog, an organization dedicated to helping individuals with mental health challenges lead fulfilling lives, McDermott only began racing four years ago. In that short time, he has already amassed an impressive resume, competing in Ferrari, McLaren, Mazda, Renault Clio, and Hyundai machinery, including a stint at the daunting Nürburgring Nordschleife. His standout achievement came in 2023 with a class victory at the prestigious Silverstone 500.
“I am thrilled to be returning to the British GT Championship, a series I truly enjoy,” McDermott said. “Due to time constraints, the Endurance Cup provides the perfect alternative to a full-season campaign, as otherwise, I may have only been able to enter select rounds. With my third child on the way and business commitments keeping me busy, this format works perfectly. I am delighted to be teaming up with Seb—he is a proven race winner, and I am eager to learn from him. Team Parker Racing’s experience and success in the series make them the ideal team to work with, and I cannot wait to get started!”
His teammate, Seb Morris, is no stranger to success with Team Parker Racing. The Welsh driver clinched the overall British GT Championship title in 2017 behind the wheel of a Bentley Continental GT3 and added the GT4 Pro-Am crown to his accolades last season. Following his 2017 triumph, Morris became a factory driver for Bentley, competing on the international stage. Now, he’s back with Team Parker Racing, eager to mentor McDermott and chase more victories.
“I am delighted to return to British GT alongside Ed,” Morris said. “This partnership is exciting, as we already share a strong friendship, and I am looking forward to helping him develop as a driver. Together, we will be a competitive pairing in the Endurance Cup. Ed has made it clear that he wants to fight for overall podiums, and I will be doing everything possible to make that a reality. With such a strong line-up at Team Parker Racing, 2025 promises to be an incredibly exciting season, and if we perform well, we could even challenge for the Teams’ title.”
The duo, who have forged a close bond within the motorsport paddock, will race together for the first time in 2025. With McDermott’s business obligations ruling out a full-season effort, the Endurance Cup offers the perfect platform for the pair to showcase their skills in a condensed yet fiercely competitive format.
Team Parker Racing’s pedigree in the British GT Championship speaks for itself. With over 400 race wins and 57 championship titles to its name, the squad has a storied history, including the 2017 Drivers’ title and GT4 Pro-Am honors in 2018 and 2024. The combination of Morris’s championship-winning experience, McDermott’s raw talent, and the team’s proven track record sets the stage for a thrilling 2025 campaign.
As the season approaches, all eyes will be on this dynamic pairing as they aim to leave their mark on the Endurance Cup and potentially contend for the Teams’ title.
