Falken Motorsports continued their dominant start to the 2025 ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season, claiming a second straight victory as Dorian Boccolacci and Alessio Picariello secured the win at the ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy. In a four-hour race marked by sunny skies and fierce GT3 battles, the #3 Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R duo finished comfortably ahead of the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo of Christian Krognes and Mattia Drudi.
The event began with a fog-induced delay to qualifying, but once the track cleared, Frank Stippler again proved fastest in the #8 JUTA Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3, taking pole with an 8:04.971. Stippler led the early laps but was soon overhauled by the #3 and #4 Falken Porsches when the Audi was delayed in traffic. The sister car, the #4 Falken Porsche of Tim Heinemann and Dennis Marschall, challenged but lost time during a pit stop.
Boccolacci and Picariello maintained control for most of the race, although on the final lap Christian Krognes in the #34 Walkenhorst Aston Martin overtook the leading Falken Porsche to cross the line first. Aware that Walkenhorst faced a 37-second post-race time penalty for not meeting the minimum pit stop time, Boccolacci chose not to risk a hard defence and let the #34 car through. As a result, the penalty dropped the #34 Aston Martin to second place, 30.751 seconds behind the winners.
Third went to the #98 Rowe Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Raffaele Marciello, and Kelvin van der Linde, who fought back from ninth on the grid. Fourth place was taken by the #16 Scherer Sport PHX Porsche 911 GT3 R of Patric Niederhauser and Patrick Pilet, ahead of the #4 Falken Motorsports Porsche.
In the SP9 Pro-Am class, Stippler, ‘SELV’, and Alexey Veremenko won with the #8 JUTA Racing Audi. Équipe Vitesse’s #50 Audi R8 LMS GT3 crew of Michael Heimrich, Lorenzo Rocco, and Arno Klasen claimed SP9 Am honours.
In the Cup categories, SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (Cup 3) and Mühlner Motorsport (Cup 2) continued their perfect seasons.
Robert Wickens successfully completed his Permit Nordschleife laps in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, finishing fourth in TCR.
The next round, the 56. Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy, takes place on 10 May.
