In a historic weekend that featured the first-ever Monaco Formula E doubleheader, Oliver Rowland extended his lead in the Drivers’ Championship with a Round 6 victory, while Sébastien Buemi returned to the top step of the podium with a long-awaited win in Round 7.

Rowland now holds a commanding lead in the standings, nearly 50 points ahead of Antonio Félix da Costa, with defending champion Pascal Wehrlein close behind his teammate.

While Rowland’s Saturday win continued his strong march toward a potential first Formula E title, Buemi’s Sunday triumph marked a major personal milestone—his first win since the 2019 New York E-Prix (Season 5).

Buemi hasn’t seen the same level of success in recent years as he did early in his Formula E career, earning just seven podiums since that last victory. But in a chaotic Round 7, the Swiss driver timed everything to perfection and finally ended his drought with a well-deserved win.

As has become tradition in Monaco, both races delivered plenty of drama.

On Saturday, Antonio Félix da Costa crashed into the wall, ending his race prematurely after running out of room heading into a corner. Mitch Evans also encountered trouble, triggering another yellow flag. Despite the chaos, Rowland kept his composure and held off all challengers to secure the win.

Sunday’s race saw weather play a significant role, with multiple incidents throughout the day—including in qualifying, where both DS Penske drivers had their lap times invalidated, preventing a final match-up in the duels. Dan Ticktum hit the wall late in the race, prompting a yellow flag, while Nico Müller brought out a safety car after his own incident. The race culminated in a thrilling four-way battle for the lead, with Buemi ultimately emerging victorious.
