It was a pair of BMWs that led the way at Sebring, as the #29 M4 GT3 for Turner Motorsports and the #99 M4 GT3 for Random Vandals Racing capped off a strong weekend for the German manufacturer.
Kenton Koch and Connor De Phillippi delivered a stellar performance for the raccoon-branded team in Sebring, highlighted by two first-place finishes as they maintained their lead throughout the weekend.
The pressure was on for Robby Foley and, more notably, Justin Rothberg, who found himself in multiple late-race battles for the lead. Todd Coleman emerged as the first challenger in the #88 Archangel Motorsports McLaren, pushing hard on Rothberg’s heels. However, a penalty and an off-track excursion into the grass ended any hopes of a victory for the team.
Regulator Racing also made a late push for the top podium spot, but it was too little, too late for the Mercedes-AMG outfit, which saw Jeff Burton bring home a second-place finish in Pro-Am.
Dollahite Racing secured its second-class win of the weekend—albeit as the only Am entry. Nonetheless, the team showed impressive pace against the rest of the field as the series shifts its focus to VIR in July.
