Lucas Auer stormed to DTM pole position at the Lausitzring, setting a blistering new lap record of 1m19.827sec in his Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf machine. The Austrian ace was the first to dip below the 1m20.000sec barrier this weekend, stamping his authority on the session.
Ricardo Feller put in a stellar performance in his Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2, missing out on pole by a mere 0.033sec, securing second place. Maro Engel followed closely behind in third, representing Mercedes-AMG Team Winward Racing. Jules Gounon slotted into fourth, while René Rast emerged as the fastest BMW driver, clinching fifth place for Schubert Motorsport.
The session saw late drama as Feller edged past Engel for second, while Gounon ensured three Mercedes-AMG cars finished inside the top five.
The race kicks off today at 12:30 local time.
