The Masters Historic Racing paddock rolled into town at Brands Hatch this past weekend, bringing with it a selection of GT cars from years gone by. Open to GT3 and GT4 cars up to 2015, and Cup/Trophy cars up to 2018 specification, it’s a proving ground for machines that have fallen just outside of current homologation rules. Two Scott Sport-ran Gallardos made up the GT3 class, with a pair of Ginettas representing GT4. The rest of the nine-car showing was comprised of various Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup cars.

Needless to say, the Lamborghinis ran away early in Race 1, until a technical infringement led the #7 Gallardo of Neil Glover and Luke Reade into the pits to fix a fire extinguisher, losing them the lead and handing the top position to Craig Wilkins and Aaron Scott. Darren Howell and Sean Doyle took second place with their 488 Challenge Evo, and the third step of the podium was nabbed by the Ginetta G55 of Morris and Miracco – just 8 seconds ahead of Luke Reade in the Gallardo. A strong recovery drive!

Race 2 saw another strong start from Scott Sport, pulling away in a matter of laps over the rest of the field. The cars worked their way around the tight and technical circuit in class order, breaking rank only for their mandatory pitstop. Scott Sport swept the top two spots on the podium with Craig Wilkins and Aaron Scott dominating ahead of teammates Neil Glover and Luke Reade, while Howell and Doyle took third place – a lap ahead of the rest of the competition.
