René Rast claimed a dominant Race 2 win at the Nürburgring, showcasing top form in a thrilling DTM showdown that shook up the championship standings.
Pole-sitter Ben Dörr had to relinquish his early lead after an intense multi-car battle with Lucas Auer in the #22 Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo during the opening laps. Starting from P6, René Rast, behind the wheel of the #33 Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3, made a lightning start, quickly moving up the order and immediately putting pressure on Gilles Magnus in the #7 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Auer, and Dörr.

Rast wasted no time in making his moves, overtaking Magnus and Auer in quick succession before setting his sights on Dörr. Once at the front, Rast pulled away steadily, showing dominant pace and control over the remainder of the race.
Marco Wittmann in the #11 Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 also had a strong run, climbing from the midfield and eventually overtaking Auer to secure second place. Auer had to settle for third, crossing the finish line +7.795 seconds behind Rast.
Fourth place went to Maro Engel in the #24 Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, followed closely by Ayhancan Güven in the #90 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Elsewhere, Timo Glock was forced to retire due to problems, while Jack Aitken endured a difficult race after contact with Ricardo Feller, eventually finishing P16.
The result sees the championship lead swing back to Lucas Auer, who now sits on 137 points, holding a narrow advantage in the standings as the season heads towards its final rounds.
