Formula E and BMW factory driver Robin Frijns has parted ways with Envision and will now begin searching for a new home ahead of Season 12.

Frijns spent six of the past seven seasons with Envision, earning two race victories — both in Season 5 — along with multiple podium finishes. His debut year with the team remains arguably his best, as he secured a season-best fourth in the Drivers’ Championship.

In recent years, Frijns has expanded his sportscar commitments, competing in endurance events within IMSA and running full seasons in the FIA World Endurance Championship. With BMW shifting direction and WRT emerging as the brand’s new global factory partner, Frijns could be in line for a more permanent role within BMW’s LMDh program. While a return to Formula E remains possible, signs point toward the Dutchman focusing on an expanded sportscar calendar in 2026.

Frijns’ former teammate and fellow WEC competitor, Sébastien Buemi, will remain with Envision for Season 12 after a strong campaign highlighted by a Monaco victory.

“Throughout Robin’s six seasons with Envision Racing, he has delivered excellent results and cracking drives, and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with such a talented driver,” said Envision Team Principal Sylvain Filippi in a press release. “His two victories and numerous podiums stand out, but also his raw speed and ability to deliver a lap when it mattered. He’s been a fierce competitor and a valued part of our team. Formula E is an ever-evolving championship, and for us, the time has come for an exciting new change. We look forward to announcing our Season 12 line-up shortly.”
