Klaus Bachler and Sven Müller steered the #3 Falken Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R to victory in the fog-shortened KW 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen. In a race reduced to four-and-a-half hours after morning delays, Falken Motorsports proved untouchable, scoring a commanding 1–2 finish as the #4 sister car followed just five seconds behind. The win continues Porsche’s unbeaten streak in the 2025 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, with the manufacturer now six from six on the Nordschleife.
Fog and a compressed timetable
The race day began with dense morning fog covering the Nürburgring, forcing qualifying to be delayed until midday. When the session finally went ahead, it was Nico Menzel in the #4 Falken Porsche that took pole with a time of 8m10.838s. Behind the polesitter, the #48 Team EAE Porsche 911 GT3 R lined up second, while two Cup2 entries — the #948 48 LOSCH Motorsport by Black Falcon and #921 Mühlner Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 Cups — sensationally filled the second row. The eventual winners in the #3 Falken Porsche started from fifth on the grid.
Early charge through the field
When the race got underway at 14:00, the #3 Falken Porsche wasted no time making progress. Sven Müller moved up into third place before the cars even reached the Nordschleife on the opening lap. Behind the Falken cars, the #6 HRT Ford Mustang GT3 made a strong start, climbing into third place. After the first round of pitstops, the two Falken Porsches had already established themselves at the front of the field and began pulling clear of their rivals.
Falken fight for the lead
The balance between the two team cars shifted on lap 17 when Müller used the slipstream down Döttinger Höhe to overtake the #4 sister car of Dennis Marschall and move into the lead. From there, the #3 Falken Porsche steadily pulled away, at one point stretching the gap to over 14 seconds.
Podium and class winners
The #6 HRT Ford Mustang GT3 driven by Vincent Kolb, Frank Stippler, and Patrick Assenheimer secured the final podium place after a strong, trouble-free run. Fourth overall went to the #48 Black Falcon Team EAE Porsche, which also took honours in the SP9 Pro-Am class. In SP9 Am, victory went to the #786 Renazzo Motorsport Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Sak Nana, Christoph Breuer, and ‘Dieter Schmidtmann’, finishing an impressive fifth overall after starting from 22nd.
Cup2 once again produced a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup thriller. After a flat-out battle all race long, the #921 Mühlner Motorsport Porsche (Arne Hoffmeister, David Jahn, Tim Scheerbarth) edged the #948 Losch Motorsport by BLACK FALCON Porsche (Tobias Müller, Noah Nagelsdiek, Carlos Rivas) by 19 seconds at the flag. Both cars finished inside the overall top ten, which was completed by three more Cup2 entries.
Porsche dominance continues
The result marked Porsche’s continuation of its unbeaten run in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie this season. Falken Motorsports added another win to its tally, achieved through a combination of aggressive opening laps, a decisive pass for the lead, and perfectly executed strategy in the final hour.
Title fight heats up
The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie continues in less than a month with the 65. ADAC ACAS Cup on 13 September, a four-hour race that traditionally serves as a late-summer highlight. With Falken firmly in control of the Speed Trophy championship after its double Porsche triumph, the team’s rivals will be aiming to turn the tables before the season moves into its decisive final stretch.
