The curtain has fallen on the 2025 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) season with another dominant display from Falken Motorsports. In a race shaped by changing weather and relentless competition, it was the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Dorian Boccolacci and Nico Menzel that stormed to victory, leading a commanding 1-2 finish for the Falken outfit.

From the moment of the green lights at midday, the race was a rollercoaster of position changes, pit strategies, and weather-induced chaos. The opening laps even saw Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS driver Harley Haughton from the second starting group lead the race on time, while Porsche 911 GT3 Cup driver Tobias Müller took the lead on the road ahead of the big GT3s. Early showers around Hohe Acht and Eschbach forced teams into tough tyre decisions, with several opting for rain rubber by lap 10.

Despite an early pit stop with front-end damage, nursing the car after an earlier incident and an off-track moment in lap 10 at Schwalbenschwanz, the #4 Falken Porsche of Boccolacci and Menzel recovered superbly, executing a flawless four-stop strategy and capitalising on the conditions to take the chequered flag. The #3 sister car with doublestarter Nico Menzel and Joel Sturm, completed the Falken 1-2, having led at various stages and fought valiantly throughout.

Mustang Muscles

Fabio Scherer lit up the Nordschleife in today’s qualifying, steering the #9 Ford Mustang GT3 to a blistering lap of 7m48.717sec—a new benchmark for the series and a well-earned pole position for the HRT squad. In the race, the #6 Ford Mustang GT3 of Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler delivered a strong performance to claim third overall, fending off their HRT stablemates in the #9 Mustang, who finished fourth. The American muscle cars proved competitive in both wet and dry conditions, showcasing their evolution over the season.

Champions Crowned

While the race win went to Falken, the championship glory belonged to #187 BMW M4 GT4 drivers Nick Wüstenhagen and Ranko Mijatovic, who were officially crowned NLS champions for 2025. Their consistency across the season paid dividends, securing the title for FK Performance Motorsport on a tie-breaker with Arne Hoffmeister and Tim Scheerbarth.

CUP2 Class Thriller

The CUP2 category saw a nail-biting finish. The #948 48 LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of Tobias Müller, Noah Nagelsdiek, and Carlos Rivas led into the final lap with a 20-second cushion over the charging #921 Mühlner Motorsport machine of Arne Hoffmeister, David Jahn, and Tim Scheerbarth. In a dramatic twist on the final lap, Jahn clinched the CUP2 class victory after the leading #948 Black Falcon Porsche 911 GT3 Cup came unstuck at Wippermann, sliding off into the barriers and handing the honours to the chasing #921 machine. The race victory left Hoffmeister and Scheerbarth second in the NLS championship standings on equal points, but with CUP2 championship glory.
