The 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is on the horizon as the series wrapped up its 2025 campaign this past weekend.

Heading into the weekend, the series unveiled its full 2026 entry list, highlighted by some new teams and changes coming for next season. 54 entries total, including Michelin Endurance Cup competitors, make up the initial grid, with expectations for Daytona to feature 60+ cars total.

With that lets go class-by-class and have a look at who will be competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year.

GTP

The GTP field remains largely unchanged for 2026, with Team WRT emerging as the most notable change as it takes over the BMW M Hybrid V8 program next season.

All 11 entries on the grid are slated for full-season campaigns, with the Heart of Racing Team set to make its GTP Rolex 24 debut following the Valkyrie’s series introduction at Sebring last year.

Proton Competition, which has been sidelined in recent rounds due to chassis damage, is absent from the 2026 entry list — raising questions about the future of its program.

Lamborghini, which previously announced the suspension of its SC63 program, is also not part of the entry list — an expected omission given the earlier news.

LMP2

LMP2 remains largely unchanged for 2026, with all 12 entries set to compete full-time next season.

Intersport Racing and Bryan Herta Autosport headline the newest additions to the spec class, while Team Tonis returns for a full-season campaign after a one-off appearance at Road America this year.

The only departures from the 2025 roster are AF Corse and Riley, both stepping back from their LMP2 efforts.

GTD Pro

GTD Pro sees several notable changes on the 2026 IMSA entry list, featuring both returning and debuting WeatherTech Championship teams.

Risi Competizione — the 2024 Rolex 24 class winners — returns to the grid after spending 2025 supporting DragonSpeed’s GTD Pro campaign. The team will field a Michelin Endurance Cup entry next season.

Triarsi Competizione and 75 Express Racing will also compete in the Michelin Endurance Cup, while WEC powerhouse Manthey Racing is set to make its IMSA debut at Daytona, running the MEC schedule as well.

Amid these additions, Paul Miller Racing will scale back its GTD Pro program, fielding only a single entry — the No. 1 — for 2026.

GTD

GTD enters 2026 with the largest class on the grid, featuring 14 full-season entries and five Michelin Endurance Cup (MEC) participants.

New to the full-season lineup is Riley’s No. 16 Ford Mustang GT3, which was announced Thursday afternoon ahead of the full entry list release.

Other notable changes include defending Michelin Pilot Challenge champions RS1 joining the grid for endurance events, while Manthey adds a second endurance entry in the class.

AWA has also rebranded and will now compete under the name 13 Motorsports.

A few teams will not return for 2026, including Korthoff/Competition Motors and one of AF Corse’s two entries.
