A 38-car entry list is set to hit the track this weekend at Daytona International Speedway for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pre-season test. The event is highlighted by several EVO joker updates debuting for GTPs and the American debut of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3.

The three-day test begins Friday, November 14, with prototype-only sessions and concludes Sunday, November 16, with two GT-only sessions. Saturday will feature all four classes on track, with three sessions scheduled throughout the day.

Each class carries intriguing storylines heading into the weekend, so we’ll break them down individually to get you up to speed on what to watch.

GTP

Eleven entries make up the GTP field this weekend, with several manufacturers introducing new EVO jokers to their cars.

Cadillac, Porsche, Acura, and BMW will test their updated machinery for the first time in the United States—an important step in evaluating any potential performance improvements.

Beyond the EVO updates, BMW will also debut its new partnership with Team WRT. The collaboration has already been established globally in the WEC but will make its IMSA debut at Daytona.

Notable drivers expected to participate include NASCAR standouts Connor Zilisch and AJ Allmendinger, IndyCar veterans Scott Dixon, Josef Newgarden, and Scott McLaughlin, as well as newly appointed Cadillac F1 reserve driver Colton Herta.

Most driver lineups in the GTP class remain unchanged, although Matt Campbell is slated to test in the customer JDC-Miller Porsche 963 alongside his Porsche Penske duties.

This weekend will also mark the start of year two for the Aston Martin Valkyrie program, which is preparing for its Rolex 24 debut next season after missing out last year due to developmental obligations.

LMP2

The all-Oreca class returns with 10 entries on the list for this weekend.

Bryan Herta Autosport is set to make its on-track debut in the category, partnering with PR1/Mathiasen, while Intersport Racing returns to the grid after a multi-year hiatus. BHA’s lineup features several IMSA favorites, including Ben Keating, Misha Goikhberg, Tristan Vautier, and Parker Thompson—who recently announced his departure from Toyota/Lexus. Intersport’s roster is highlighted by team owner Jon Field, joined by sportscar aces Oliver Jarvis and Seth Lucas.

Other notable lineups include the Fittipaldi brothers teaming up for Pratt Miller Motorsports, and DH Hasson with Tobi Lutke joining TDS Racing. Hunter McElrea and Mikkel Jensen will also pair up with United Autosports.

GTD Pro

Nine entries headline the GTD Pro field, with Pfaff’s debut of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 serving as one of the main focal points.

Pfaff, which will officially retire the Huracán after the Rolex 24 next year, is set to break in the highly anticipated Temerario for the first time on U.S. soil. The car will make its race debut in IMSA competition at Sebring in March.

Team RLL also returns to the GT ranks with its new McLaren program, though no drivers have been announced. Winward Racing will debut its own GTD Pro effort, joined by longtime WEC entrant Manthey. Manthey will also roll out the brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) EVO, marking the model’s first official appearance in IMSA testing.

GTD

The final class on track this weekend is GTD, featuring eight total entries.

Two new programs—Myers Riley Motorsports and RS1—will make their class debuts, though both are familiar names within the IMSA paddock. RS1 steps up to the WeatherTech Championship after capturing a title in the Michelin Pilot Challenge’s Grand Sport class, while Riley transitions to GT3 competition with a new Ford customer program.

Magnus Racing also returns following a year of uncertainty in 2025. AF Corse will debut its new Ferrari EVO, while RS1 and Wright Motorsports will both introduce Porsche EVO packages as well.
