DragonSpeed will return to a familiar face when they shift to the GTD class for 2026, trading out their previously-ran Ferrari for a Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
The Florida-based program is projected to be the fifth Corvette entry on the IMSA grid for next season, joining DXDT Racing, 13 Motorsports (formerly AWA), and Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller.
2025 was a strong season for DragonSpeed under the Ferrari umbrella, finishing 2nd as a team in the GTD Pro class last year. The team stayed in contention up until Road Atlanta, where Corvette Racing would earn enough points to secure the GTD Pro title.
Along with the switch in manufacturer, the team also announced its three drivers for the 2026 campaign. Full-season drivers Henrik Hedman, Giacomo Altoe and endurance driver Casper Stevenson make up the lineup, with Altoe the only returning driver from last year’s group.
“We’re proud to rejoin the GM Motorsports family with the launching of our Corvette campaign,” Team Principal Elton Julian said in the official release. “I’ll always remember the support we had from Chevrolet as rookies – and sophomores! – at the Indy 500. When we entered the GT fray after LMP2, it was very much with a future Chevy relationship in mind. Of course, we had to demonstrate that we could handle the transition between categories, and I think taking the championship fight to the last round this season showed we can do the job.”
