Three sessions have concluded on the second day of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship testing at Daytona, with a trio of manufacturers leading the way in the GTP class.

Today’s action marked the only track time of the weekend to feature all four classes, along with the weekend’s lone night session.

Colin Braun set the fastest time in Session 3 among the GTP runners for the #60 Acura ARX-06, posting a 1:36.231. Three of the four quickest laps of the day came from the #60 crew, with AJ Allmendinger and Tom Blomqvist recording the second- and fourth-fastest times. JDC-Miller’s Bryce Aron slotted the customer #85 Porsche 963 into second among teams, while Dries Vanthoor ranked third in the team grouping.

Pietro Fittipaldi recorded the fastest LMP2 lap in the morning session for Pratt Miller Racing, while Nicki Thiim (#44 Magnus Racing Aston Martin Vantage, GTD) and Maxime Martin (#48 Winward Racing Mercedes, GTD Pro) topped their respective classes. Thiim ended up leading all GTDs, including the Pro entries.

In Session 4, Nico Pino snapped Acura’s run at the top by putting the #85 Porsche 963 on provisional pole with a 1:36.015. Fittipaldi once again led the LMP2 field, while Winward Racing paced the GTD categories with Russell Ward and Jason Hart heading the team’s respective entries.

In the night-time Session 5, Marco Wittmann and Dries Vanthoor led the way for the pair of WRT BMWs. Alex Quinn topped the charts for Crowdstrike by APR in LMP2, while Winward Racing continued its strong form in GTD, with Lucas Auer and Maxime Martin setting the best times in their classes.

The GTD classes will now get their own pair of sessions on Sunday as IMSA testing wraps up for the weekend.
