The last two season have seen new GTP cars introduced during the testing weekend. But with no new manufacturers or cars joining the party (outside of EVOs), the Lamborghini’s Temerario GT3 is the talk of the town here in Daytona.
This morning, Pfaff Motorsports took the car out on track for its first laps on North American soil, a major milestone for the new platform. While new cars are bound to encounter some bug, fortunately, the team’s first stint was clean and productive.
“Yeah, it feels good. It’s nice to finally bring this car to the US. As I said yesterday, it’s always special to do the first few laps of a new car in North America. So, I’m really happy with how it went. We didn’t create any red flags, as probably somebody was expecting, so I’m happy with that. We didn’t have any problems. We ran all the runs we wanted to do and planned, so we didn’t have any issues. That was pretty positive.”

The Temerario is phasing out the Huracán which had become a staple in the GT paddock of IMSA and across the world.
Although the Temerario will be the newest model of Lamborghini, it doesn’t mean the Huracán is going away, with Wayne Taylor Racing set to run it for their GTD entry next season.
Nevertheless, the new Temerario does feature some new perks, making it different from its Italian Bull predecessor.
“Yeah, it’s pretty different. Starting, obviously, from the engine base, It’s completely different. Drivability wise, it is different from the Huracán. But it’s good to have a back-to-back comparison with the last time. Obviously, last time we came here was January, but still fresh in my mind on how to reference it with the Huracán. There’s a few laps to get used to it, but after that it was pretty much straightforward. The car obviously requires a different driving style. Both engine and the chassis are obviously different platforms. But other than that, it feels pretty normal.”
