Once again, the Rolex 24 at Daytona is set to feature a star-studded and packed grid for 2026, with 61 entries confirmed for the latest edition of the twice-around-the-clock classic.
A total of 11 GTPs, 14 LMP2s, 15 GTD Pros, and 21 GTDs make up the staggering field—highlighted by a blend of season-long contenders and teams entering one-off efforts for the 2026 IMSA campaign.
As always, the driver lineups include standout talent from across the world, featuring the usual mix of IndyCar and NASCAR stars alongside racers from a variety of disciplines.
With that, let’s break down the field as we get set for one of the crown jewels of sports car racing, the Rolex 24.
GTP
The 11-car GTP grid mirrors much of what we saw during testing, with only a few driver seats still awaiting confirmation for January’s race.
The biggest headline is the official Rolex 24 debut of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, fielded by the growing Heart of Racing program.
While the Valkyrie and Heart of Racing have logged mileage at Daytona through two tests in 2024 and the most recent IMSA test in November 2025, January marks the car’s first competitive outing in the Rolex 24.
Additional notable developments include:
-
The BMW–WRT partnership making its first U.S. appearance after years of WEC collaboration;
-
Only one Porsche 963 customer entry remaining on the grid, with JDC-Miller continuing while Proton Competition shows no signs of returning;
-
Porsche Penske shifting its full focus to IMSA for 2026, keeping its two-car GTP operation based stateside.
LMP2
The LMP2 field sees several intriguing changes, highlighted by new entrants joining the class for 2026.
A revitalized Intersport Racing and Bryan Herta Autosport w/ PR1/Mathiasen will make their class debuts with promising driver lineups. Inter Europol Competition will expand to a two-car effort for the Rolex 24, featuring standout talents such as Nolan Siegel and Formula E contender Nick Cassidy. The sister car will include former Formula E champion António Félix da Costa.
Team Tonis is also set for its full-season IMSA debut, with its driver roster still being finalized.
Additionally, former Williams F1 driver Logan Sargeant will compete in the Rolex 24 as part of the ERA Motorsport LMP2 lineup.
GTD Pro
The GTD Pro class features one of its strongest fields to date, with 15 entries slated for the grid.
One of the most eye-catching entries is from 75 Express, where IndyCar legend Will Power will make his Rolex 24 debut. He’ll be joined by 2025 Australian Supercars champion Chaz Mostert, forming an impressive duo for the Australian-based team.
Other notable programs include:
-
GetSpeed’s return to the Rolex 24;
-
Risi Competizione returning as an independent program;
-
The Team RLL–McLaren partnership debuting its new GTD Pro effort;
-
Winward Racing’s first GTD Pro entry, the #48 Mercedes.
The class also features standout drivers including Kyle Kirkwood (Vasser Sullivan), Jüri Vips (Team RLL), and Klaus Bachler (Manthey).
GTD
Rounding out the field is the largest class, GTD, with 21 entries.
Several new teams will join the grid at Daytona, including Muehlner Motorsports, RS1, and Myers Riley Motorsports, while Manthey will also enter select endurance rounds.
Meanwhile, DragonSpeed will debut its newly acquired Corvette as the team transitions from GTD Pro.
Star drivers in the category include:
-
Romain Grosjean (Myers Riley Ford);
-
Marcus Ericsson (WTR Lamborghini);
-
Callum Ilott (Wright Motorsports Porsche);
-
A surprise move as Madison Snow joins Magnus Racing’s Aston Martin program.
