Tresor Competition has confirmed the signing of Andrea Frassineti for the 2026 season, with the Italian driver set to contest one of the most extensive GT3 programmes on the grid. Reigning Italian GT Sprint champion Frassineti will race in both Sprint and Endurance formats of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, alongside a full campaign in the Italian GT Championship, also covering Sprint and Endurance, driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
Italian GT title holder steps up
The programme brings together all four series under one structure and will see Frassineti compete across up to 18 races during the season. For the 19-year-old, it marks his first full year combining Europe’s leading GT championship with Italy’s national series.
“I felt trust and a clear vision for my development from the very beginning,” Frassineti said, explaining his move. He described the dual commitment as “a demanding but extremely motivating challenge,” adding that the focus will now be on “working methodically and consistently to grow race by race” across both championships.
Born in 2006, Frassineti has built his GT career quickly after moving from single-seaters into Lamborghini Super Trofeo, before establishing himself in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship. His résumé includes wins, podiums and pole positions, capped by the 2025 Italian GT Sprint overall title as a Lamborghini GT Junior Driver.
Tresor’s 2026 plan
Team Principal Federico Geri made clear that the signing was a deliberate choice. “It was my clear intention to include Andrea in the 2026 project,” he said.
Geri pointed to Frassineti’s approach and ability to develop over time as key factors: “Tresor has always believed in young drivers who demonstrate not only speed, but also approach, discipline and the ability to evolve over time. Andrea perfectly reflects these qualities. The programme we have defined is very demanding and requires focus, preparation and an appropriate structure, aspects we work on every day. I am confident that we will achieve more than a few satisfying results together.”
2026 season schedule
Frassineti’s Tresor 2026 campaign will begin with the traditional endurance opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe at Circuit Paul Ricard in April. The Italian GT Championship kicks off two weeks later with the sprint doubleheader at Imola.
