It was Cadillac’s trio of entries that made their presence known, along with Porsche, following a full day of on-track action at Daytona on Saturday.

Laurens Vanthoor led the way for the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 in Session 3 with a best lap of 1:36.549, followed by GTP rookie Laurin Heinrich in the #7 Porsche at 1:36.968. Filipe Albuquerque placed the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R third with a 1:37.021, while Jordan Taylor (#40 WTR Cadillac) and Frederik Vesti (#31 Whelen Cadillac) rounded out the top five.

LMP2 honors in the session went to Mathias Beche in the #11 TDS Racing Oreca with a 1:40.159. Felipe Fraga topped GTD in the #16 Myers Riley Mustang with a 1:47.453, while Will Power paced GTD Pro in the #75 75 Express Mercedes-AMG with a 1:47.612 as the IndyCar champion prepares for his Rolex 24 debut.

Session 4 saw Albuquerque secure Cadillac its first fastest time of the weekend, topping the GTP charts in the #10 WTR Cadillac with a 1:36.731. Ben Hanley led LMP2 for United Autosports in the #2 Oreca at 1:39.922. Romain Grosjean continued Myers Riley’s strong showing by leading GTD with a 1:47.667, while Nicky Catsburg topped GTD Pro in the #4 Corvette Racing entry at 1:47.810.

In the anticipated night session, cooler conditions allowed Vanthoor to once again set the pace, posting the fastest lap of Session 5 at 1:37.239 in the #6 Porsche. Cadillac F1 reserve driver Colton Herta followed closely in the #40 Cadillac with a 1:37.342. Mikkel Jensen led LMP2 for United Autosports with a 1:39.770, while Will Power (GTD Pro, 1:47.673) and Felipe Fraga (GTD, 1:47.733) returned to the top of the timing charts in their respective classes.

Along with WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice, Michelin Pilot Challenge also completed two sessions on Saturday. The day was highlighted by the opening round of the VP Racing Fuels SportsCar Challenge, where Oscar Tunjo earned the P3 and overall victory for Gebhardt Intralogistics Motorsports, while Toyota Development driver Westin Workman delivered the GSX class win for Rafa Racing.

The Roar Before the 24 concludes Sunday, January 18, with two additional WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice sessions and a single Michelin Pilot Challenge run. The VP Racing Fuels SportsCar Challenge will close out the weekend with Race 2 at 1:20 p.m. ET, live on Peacock.
