Former Korthoff/Preston Motorsports and Triarsi driver Mike Skeen is set to return to Daytona this Friday, joining Kohr Motorsports and their Ford Mustang GT4 for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Daytona International Speedway.
A proven IMSA veteran at Daytona, Skeen last competed during the Rolex 24 weekend in 2025, driving a Ferrari entry for Triarsi Competizione.
The former Mercedes-AMG factory driver earned his highest in-class finish of third in 2022, a season that saw Korthoff Motorsports score back-to-back podiums to open the year at IMSA’s two Florida venues—Daytona and Sebring.
Skeen’s most recent starts in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge also came during the 2022 season, where he competed in the GT4 class with FCP Euro by Ricca Autosport.
The North Carolina native has remained active outside of IMSA as well, competing in series such as HSR, Trans Am, and NASCAR over the past several years.
Kohr Motorsports, a Daytona-area hometown team, has made headlines ahead of Friday’s race with a special livery honoring Greg Biffle’s iconic No. 60 Busch Series car, which will be featured on their Ford Mustang GT4.
Skeen will share driving duties with Ray Mason and Evan Slater in the four-hour endurance race, scheduled to go green at 1:40 p.m. ET, live on Peacock.
“I can’t wait to be back in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge paddock at Daytona and racing with Kohr Motorsports,” Skeen said in the team’s social media post. “I’ve raced against them many times and they are always front-runners. Likewise, I’ve raced against Evan [Slater] many times in Trans-Am, sometimes as teammates and sometimes not, but he is always at the sharp end of the field. I think we will be in the hunt for a strong result. Ray [Mason] has been a consistent competitor I’ve known throughout the years, and I really appreciate the opportunity.”
