Scuderia Baldini has confirmed its return to the Italian GT Championship Endurance Cup for the 2026 season, marking the comeback of one of the most successful teams in recent Italian GT history after a year away from competition.
Ferrari partnership renewed
The Rome-based outfit will rejoin the grid with a Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, resuming its long-standing link with the Maranello brand and immediately setting its sights on a seventh Italian GT title. Baldini previously claimed three Sprint championships between 2014 and 2016, followed by three Endurance crowns, including a landmark 2019 title won with Stefano Gai alongside Giancarlo Fisichella and Jacques Villeneuve. That success laid the foundations for further Endurance victories in 2023 and 2024.
Fisichella return under consideration

The 2026 programme will focus on the Endurance series only, with the driver line-up still being finalised. A return for Fisichella is among the options currently being evaluated by the team.
“We’re happy to be back in Italian GT,” said team owner Fabio Baldini. “Business commitments didn’t allow us to compete last year. We’ve won six Italian GT titles and this year we’re putting ourselves back into the game in a championship that looks set to feature a large grid and an absolutely high international level. We’ll have the latest version of the 296 GT3, the Evo, and we’ll probably be able to convince Fisichella as well, while we’re evaluating several drivers to complete the line-up.”
Scuderia Baldini’s 2026 campaign will begin on 8-10 May at Misano, as the Italian GT Endurance season opens with a three-hour race.
