Mercedes-AMG will contest the 2026 season of DTM with two performance teams and four cars, reaffirming its ambition to reclaim the drivers’ title. The German powerhouse confirms the return of Jules Gounon among the unchanged line-up.
The brand will again field entries through the Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf and Winward Racing. Lucas Auer and Tom Kalender will compete for Team Landgraf, While Maro Engel and Jules Gounon will drive for Winward Racing under the Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL and Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER banners.
The liveries of the four Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars will be unveiled at a later date, but Gounon hopes to be back in the iconic Mamba.
He recently told GT REPORT about his ambition to return to the German championship, after his first full season in DTM left him hungry for more: “I had a difficult first full season in DTM and that triggered something in me. It turns out a Mamba is quite difficult to tame.”
“I love the mamba and I’ve got my fingers crossed that I’ll get to drive that car again. Maybe I’ll even do a special helmet then.”
