Jack Aitken will lead the field to green tomorrow morning for the 12 Hours of Sebring after securing pole in the GTP class driving the #31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R.

The Cadillacs were stout coming into the qualifying session. However, Tom Blomqvist would join the battle for the pole position, finishing 2nd in his #60 MSR Acura ARX-06 with a 1:46.242. Ultimately, Aitken powered past Blomqvist and was able to take away the top spot.

Misha Goikhberg showed strong pace early in qualifying but would have to make a late push to earn the #52 Bryan Herta Autosport w/ PR1 Oreca pole position in LMP2 with a 1:51.182. GTD Pro saw Jack Hawksworth flex his #14 Lexus RC F GT3 to secure class pole for Vasser Sullivan, posting a 1:58.480. And in GTD, Dudu Barrichello topped the timing sheets, 1:58.856, inside the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

“We know that we’re relatively strong in qualifying,” said Aitken following the session. “The Cadillac was giving me a lot of confidence. It’s a really tough lap around here, so I don’t think anybody gets a perfect lap, but we were close. It’s a lot of fun. I enjoyed it a lot. We’re going to keep doing our high work tonight and expect that we’re going to have some scheduled competition tomorrow.”

The 74th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring kicks off tomorrow morning at 10:10 am ET, live exclusively on Peacock.
