The #7 Porsche Penske 963 has continued to control the GTP field as the 12 Hours of Sebring transitions into night running.

The middle portion of the race has been relatively calm compared to the chaotic opening hours, with fewer on-track incidents disrupting the flow of the enduro.

One of the more notable moments came when Marco Wittmann, in the #25 WRT BMW M Hybrid V8, made contact with the #70 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO driven by Brandon Iribe. The incident caused significant damage to the driver’s side of the Ferrari and brought out the fourth full-course yellow of the race. As a result, Inception Racing was forced to retire the car.

In Hour 7, Jack Aitken spun at Turn 3, dropping down the order after the team performed pit work to address the issue. Despite the setback, Aitken mounted a strong recovery, working his way back into the top three before the next cycle of scheduled pit stops.

Later, in the closing stages of Hour 8, Kyle Kirkwood suffered a dramatic left-front puncture, which resulted in the tire and rim detaching from the car. The incident triggered the fifth full-course yellow of the race.

Elsewhere during the second four-hour segment, the #45 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 was retired, while both the #48 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG and the #23 Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP entry spent extended time in the garage undergoing repairs.

Beyond GTP, Dane Cameron holds “Spike” (#99 AO Racing Oreca) at the top of the LMP2s. GTD Pro sees the #033 Triarsi Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO lead, while Riccardo Pera has his Manthey #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) leading GTD.
